The Mad Hatter Program
Each year the Mad Hatter artist/teachers provide engaging classes for
children to explore visual arts, rhythm and movement, music, drama and
hands on history along with creative play.
The two week session allows children to
experience the full range of the Mad Hatter Arts Camp. Children
participate in the 4 arts classes each day and rotate to 4 different
arts classes during their second week. Want to sigh up for a whole
month? Not to worry - Children attending both two week sessions
will have a new curriculum during the desond session. Themes and
projects for the camp are derived from world cultures, literature, arts
and history.
Mad Hatter 2008
Twentieth Century Mad Hatter - Children attending this year's camp will
explore the culture, history and arts of the twentieth century.
The years between 1900 and 1999 brought us great modernist movements in
the Visual Arts. Ragtime, Jazz and Rock and Roll emerged in Music while
Dance created the Charleston, Swing and Disco. Theater produced
Melodramas, Musicals, Realism and Film. History tells of the
Golden Age of Invention, Great Depressions and Moon Landings. What
an exciting century to remember and explore!
